Live-stream for Chineke! In Support of Black History Month

In Collaboration with KCL Jazz Society

I co-organised a three-hour live stream in support of Black History Month in October 2021.  Led together with April Wei-West, the live-stream featured a mix of soloists performing live, virtual performances by KCL Jazz Society and KCL Brass Band, and a jam session at the end featuring KCL Jazz Society performers.  Money raised supported the Chineke! Foundation.

I organised the performers for KCL Jazz Society, and operated the live-stream using OBS (Open Broadcast Software), and helped to co-ordinate the audio recording, working with team members from KCL Jazz Society. It was a huge success and a fantastic example of two societies collaborating together.

4’33 - Virtual Performance, May 2020

In May 2020, I took part in a performance of John Cage’s 4’33”.  The performance took place online, with a wide range of instruments.  It was great fun to participate, especially in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The performance aimed to encourage a new form of listening – through zoom!
